Do you have a big audition coming up? Are you hoping to land your dream role or trying to get into an elite graduate school or training program? The Acting Muscle can help make sure you know what you’re doing from the moment you step in the room. We’ll help you establish your character’s objective, break your text down into beats, connect emotionally with the given circumstances, and make believable, compelling acting choices. Casting directors will know that you have the chops to own the role and the stage. We’ll also work with you on techniques to help calm your nerves, stay focused and on point, and show off not only your acting skills, but your relaxed, open, and generous self. If English is not your first language, we can also help tame and shape your accent to achieve what Tom Stoppard calls “clarity of utterance.”

Working with Adam was a dream! Through his thoughtful, yet very precise and technical approach, I rediscovered my love for the craft of acting. Adam helped me discover wonderful new ways for how to interpret text, how to get really clear on intentions and actions in a monologue or a scene, and how to develop character in a true and authentic way.
— Rio Rasch, Actor
“Adam not only helped to carve my original text from a rough stone to a little gem, he was also an excellent theater coach to help me bring it to the stage and have every facet of it sparkle.”
— Océan LeRoy, Writer and Performer

If communicating with internal teams, clients or your broader professional community is part of your job, you know how important it is to speak with authority, poise and confidence. You want to relate to people like a normal human being who happens to be an excellent storyteller. But something strange happens to us when we get in front of groups of other humans, no matter how passionate we are about our message. Knees wobble, the mouth goes dry, palms get sweaty and the words just don't come out the way we want them to. The good news is that even seasoned performers encounter these problems, and we've developed tools to overcome them. The bad news is that dealing with your nerves is just the first step toward becoming a compelling storyteller.

After working with Adam, my stage fright during public speaking engagements is notably less pronounced. His techniques help me stay calm, composed and enthused, so that I truly enjoy building up a rapport with my audience. His personalized approach helped me rediscover and enjoy the full power and range of my voice. My sessions with Adam were truly one of the best things I’ve done in years!
— Eliza Apperly, writer

There's an unfortunate misconception that "effective" public speaking is about selling yourself and what a winner you are. This can quickly get boring. Instead of just stamping out our nerves, you will learn to embrace them, to talk more from the heart and less from mental strategy. Once you learn to cooperate with your nervous system, you can focus on connecting with your audience without seeming slick or rehearsed.

The creative and dynamic approach enabled me to turn my public speaking anxiousness into an excitement and passion. This unique experience has definitely boosted my confidence, inspired me and prepared me for future challenges.
— Marianna Paszkowska, Monotype

We like listening to someone who is comfortable with him or herself (flaws and all), and passionate about what they have to share. Understanding the power of a structured narrative, identifying what you want your audience to take away from your story and learning how to modulate your voice, articulation and physicality will unlock clarity, spontaneity and passion in your public speaking.

Since I started using techniques that Adam showed me to prepare before speaking, I’m more relaxed on stage, my voice is stronger and steadier, and I’m able to find more color and variety in my intonation.
— Ulrike Rausch, LiebeFonts
